Shell Pink is one of the more unusual colors in Fender's history

, used only briefly in 1956 before being replaced by Candy Apple Red. It pairs classically with a white pickguard and looks equally at home with a maple or rosewood fingerboard, on either a Stratocaster or Telecaster build. 's lab developed it to match the original factory color, with the clarity, depth, and consistency of a professional finish, and because nitrocellulose yellows and shifts naturally with age, no two vintage examples look quite alike. Apply it over sanded bare wood or fillers, sealers, or stains with the pores filled, spraying 12 to 14 inches from the surface in horizontal then vertical passes and leaving 24 hours between coats. One can covers a well-prepared guitar for an experienced finisher, and StewMac recommends two for a first project.
